The Ironman 2014

Last year, in 2013, I signed up for the Ironman Copenhagen 2014. It’s mostly been an amazing, challenging, and highly self-disciplined journey (with lots of new triathlon friends, thank god) and at times it’s been a rather lonely and ascetic project with more than 500 workouts (swim, run, bike, gym).

I finished the 3.8K run + 180K bike + 42.2K run in 10h 30m, and crossing the finish line was a massive explosion of roaring spectators, über-excitement, bodily pain/pleasure, “I fucking DID it!”-flash thoughts, tears of joy and emotional relief.

The photos below are from different races in 2014 & 2015 (Ironman Aarhus 70.3, Ironman Copenhagen, Bellevue Tri 70.3, Powerman Copenhagen)
